Fantasy Baseball Two-Start Pitchers: Week 21

No more platitudes. No more preamble. We’re in the final week of August, and there aren’t too many more chances to get those extra starts. This week there are two starters who are available in about half the leagues out there. They are each on teams in the playoff race and they each have favorable matchups on Monday.

LHP Wade Miley, Milwaukee Brewers

In 17 starts, Miley is 6-3 with a 3.18 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. More often than not he has the ability to keep his team in the game…the classic innings eater. Although he won’t get you a ton of Ks, he’s not going to hurt your ratios.

RHP Bryan Woo, Seattle Mariners

In 12 starts, Woo has only won one game but has pitched better than his 1-3 record. In 59 innings, he has 63 Ks with a solid 1.22 WHIP and a slightly elevated 4.58 ERA. Over his last two starts, his WHIP dipped from 1.27 and his ERA dropped nearly half of a run from 4.96. Add a favorable matchup against the A’s on Monday, and Woo should be snagged this week.
