Here are this week’s fantasy baseball prospects to keep your eye on.
SS Kevin McGonigle – Detroit Tigers
Whether it’s shortstop or second base, the Tigers’ middle infielder of the future is a season away from joining the team in Detroit. This season, in 51 games, between A+, A, and AA, McGonigle is slashing .337/.437/.570 with seven home runs, 44 RBI, and four stolen bases. His consistent left-handed swing and keen sense of the strike zone have allowed him to drive balls to all parts of the field while keeping his strikeout rate at 12.9%. An above-average runner, he can consistently reach double-digit stolen bases.
C Harry Ford – Seattle Mariners
Seattle’s Harry Ford could be the next highly targeted catcher in fantasy baseball. Last season, Ford posted seven home runs, 45 RBI, and 35 stolen bases for AA Arkansas. The catching prospect has excelled in 2025, at AAA Tacoma, slashing .293/.409/.446 with 10 home runs, 55 RBI, and five stolen bases in 74 games. His stolen base numbers are down in 2025, but Ford has focused on his hitting and increased his batting average by 44 points, on-base percentage by 32 points, and slugging percentage by 79 points. The 22-year-old prospect has spent time in the outfield, and a move to left field may get him every day at-bats once he reaches Seattle. Fantasy baseball players should expect Ford to receive his call-up when the rosters expand this season.
RHP Luis Morales – Athletics
Athletics prospect Luis Morales is a month away from receiving his call to the Majors. This season, Morales has a 3.86 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 102 strikeouts in 86.1 innings between AA and AAA. The right-handed starter has an electric fastball that reaches 99 MPH while sitting between 95-96 MPH. He’s still developing his slider and changeup, and both have the makings of plus secondary pitches. There is a lot to like in Morales, given his 28.6% strikeout rate and 0.9% walk rate. Fantasy baseball players should monitor Morales’ movement as he’s a few weeks away from joining the Athletics.
RHP Dioris De La Rosa – Los Angeles Angels
The 18-year-old was a standout in last season’s Dominican Summer League, posting a 2.79 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 57 strikeouts in 51.2 innings. This season, De La Rosa is pitching in the Arizona Complex League (ACL). The learning curve has produced mixed results as he has 27 walks and 31 strikeouts in 30.2 innings. The right-handed pitcher is learning to be a pitcher as opposed to a thrower. At 6’4” 200lbs, there is a lot to like as his fastball already reaches 96 MPH while sitting at 92-92 MPH. He’s developing his secondary pitches, and while his slider is above-average, his changeup is a work in progress. Dioris De La Rosa is three to four seasons away from the Majors, but now is the time to monitor his progression as he has the makeup of an elite starting pitcher.
