Whether it’s moonshot home runs, clutch base hits, or multi-hit games that just won’t quit, these dawgs have been on absolute fire. We’re breaking down the hottest players at the plate from the past week—guys who’ve been raking, slugging, and turning heads with every swing. Let’s take a look at who tore it up and made noise last week around the league, in no particular order.
Shohei Ohtani, DH – Los Angeles Dodgers

Last Week’s Line: .367/.457/.933/1.391, 4 HR, 10 RBI, 9 R, 1 SB
And just like that Shohei is back on top of the world. MONSTER week, with nearly 20 runs/RBIs produced as he obliterated the Marlins and Diamondbacks on the seven game road trip. Did you see him Friday night? 3/6, HR, 4 RBI, and 2 runs, highlighted by a 3-run bomb in a 6-run ninth for the Dodgers
Freddie Freeman, 1B – Los Angeles Dodgers

Last Week’s Line: .500/.500/1.000/1.500, 3 HR, 12 RBI, 7 R, 0 SB
Shohei wasn’t the only Dodger to fill the stat sheet last week. Frederick, also featured last week (like Ohtani), didn’t walk once. He was too busy hitting the cover off the baseball. Fivemulti-hit games, capped off with a clubbing of Diamondbacks pitching on Sunday.
Francisco Lindor, SS – New York Mets

Last Week’s Line: .360/.429/.800/1.229, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 5 R, 3 SB
Lindor came up big in a big week for the Mets, who’s winning had been criticized for not coming against competitive teams. This week it was the Cubs and the Diamondbacks and Francisco delivered, raising his season average to .304 in the process.
Ryan McMahon, 3B – Colorado Rockies

Last Week’s Line: .500/.625/1.111/1.736, 3 HR, 4 RBI, 8 R, 0 SB
A week in Coors? YES PLEASE! It’s just what the doctor ordered for McMahon, who’s been bad this season. Actually, and more accurately, McMahon has been much better this month after a brutal April, and this past week built on that surge. Three big flies in the friendly confines of the Rocky Mountains, McMahon took advantage of mostly (Pivetta) not facing the Tigers and Padres big guns.
Bobby Witt Jr., SS – Kansas City Royals

Last Week’s Line: .357/.419/.607/1.027, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 5 R, 5 SB
Bobby Witt Jr. is one of my absolute favorite players in all of baseball. Exciting at both ends of the game, he’s just special. So it’s fun to finally get to feature him. He’s been solid all year, mind you, but this week stood out a bit with 11 runs generated and five steals. Mostly as he beat the hell out of my White Sox to start the week.
Jasson Dominguez, OF – New York Yankees

Last Week’s Line: .368/.458/.895/1.353, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 8 R, 0 SB
Another exciting young player, Dominguez has quietly put together a decent start to the season while getting extended run with Stanton out. This feature is all about Friday night against the homeless Athletics – 3/4, three nukes, three runs scored, and seven RBIs.
Kyle Schwarber, DH – Philadelphia Phillies

Last Week’s Line: .400/.444/.760/1.204, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 5 R, 2 SB
Another of my favs, Schwarbs is just a hitter. He gets on base, drives in runs, scores runs with the best of them. Four multi-hit efforts, with showcase efforts on the bookends. Schwarber also launched three more last week (two on Sunday Night Baseball) to keep pace with Judge for the MLB lead.
Rafael Devers, DH – Boston Red Sox

Last Week’s Line: .476/.577/.810/1.386, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 3 R, 1 SB
After an abysmal start to the season, Devers is heating up at the plate. Yes he’s striking out more this year, but he’s also hitting the ball harder than ever with the best launch angle of his career – it was bound to catch up. He absolutely lit up Kansas City to close out the week. Just don’t ask him to play 1B.
Aaron Judge, OF – New York Yankees

Last Week’s Line: .333/.407/.792/1.199, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 6 R, 0 SB
I hope we are all truly appreciating the historic nature of what we’re witnessing with Judge these past couple of seasons. And he’s been absolutely nuts this season. It’s truly incredible. This week he only batted .333, but the scuds were there (3) with 12 runs generated.
Byron Buxton, OF – Minnesota Twins

Last Week’s Line: .286/.360/.714/1.074, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 6 R, 1 SB
Is there a more frustrating player than Buxton? ALL_WORLD talent, he’s just soft. Maybe a better way to characterize it is that he is injury-prone. If we could get a full season of Buxton, it would be something. Not sure we will, but for now he’s active and hitting the ball well. Nice series against the O’s to start the week, stamped with a couple of three-run jacks.
