The offseason isn’t even a month old yet, but we have seen some trades, and of course, we have heard plenty of rumors. As more trades happen and free agents start to sign, these rankings will change, but as of now, here is every MLB team ranked in terms of their chances at winning the 2025 World Series.

1. Los Angeles Dodgers

They just won the World Series and are loaded with talent to attempt a repeat. Expect them to spend even more money and get better.

2. Philadelphia Phillies

They have been close over the past three seasons and still have a great core. They are built to win in the playoffs, and if they improve their bullpen, they will.

3. San Diego Padres

They were the team closest to beating the Dodgers last season and are returning most of that team. Look for them to be active in free agency.

4. New York Yankees

If they can re-sign Juan Soto, they can return to the World Series despite their poor performance against the Dodgers. Without Soto, this team could miss the playoffs altogether in 2025.

5. Atlanta Braves

If they can avoid key injuries like they had in 2024, they are one of the most talented rosters in the league and can beat anyone.

6. New York Mets

They went to the NLCS last season, and they will spend money this offseason to improve. If they add an ace and two big bats, they could challenge the Dodgers in 2025.

7. Houston Astros

They still have a talented roster, and once the playoffs begin, they can never be counted out. The Mariners and Rangers will challenge them, though.

8. Baltimore Orioles

They took a step back last season after being so good in 2023, but they have one of the best young cores in the league and should be considered an AL favorite in 2025.

9. Cleveland Guardians

They were in the ALCS last year, and if they make some smart additions to their roster, they could get back there again.

10. Detroit Tigers

They had an incredible run to end the season, squeezed into the playoffs, and even won a round. They have great pitching and a good young lineup, and they could be ready to take the next step.

11. Arizona Diamondbacks

They represented the NL in the World Series in 2023 and missed the playoffs by one win last year. Don’t count them out.

12. Seattle Mariners

They have elite pitching and barely missed the playoffs last season. If they can add some offense, they could be playoff-bound in 2025.

13. Milwaukee Brewers

They won a fairly weak NL Central division and might still be the best team in the division. If they make the playoffs again, anything is possible.

14. Texas Rangers

They won the World Series in 2023 and still have most of that same core in place. 2024 was a rough one, but they could bounce back and make another run.

15. Kansas City Royals

They improved a ton from 2023 to 2024, made the playoffs, won a round, and played the Yankees tough. They already made a big trade this offseason, acquiring India from the Reds to bolster their offense.

16. Chicago Cubs

They have a strong farm system and some good young players. The NL Central is the most winnable division in baseball.

17. Cincinnati Reds

They are loaded with young talent and seem to be 1-2 years away from making some noise. If everything goes right for them, though, they could win their division.

18. Minnesota Twins

The Twins probably have the most talented roster in their division, but they underachieved in 2024. They could compete for the top spot again.

19. Boston Red Sox

They were much better than expected in 2024, and if they can add a solid SP and RP, they could contend for a wild card spot.

20. Tampa Bay Rays

They don’t spend money, and they trade away their best players, but somehow, the Rays always stay competitive, so you can never count them out.

21. St. Louis Cardinals

The NL Central is a winnable division, and they have some talent on the roster. They are likely going to finish in 4th place, though.

22. San Francisco Giants

They are competitive but are still the 4th best team in their division, which makes it almost impossible for them to get to the postseason.

23. Toronto Blue Jays

It was a tough season for the Jays in 2024. They have some star players but seem to lack the depth needed to make it through a long season. It doesn’t help that they play in the AL East.

24. Washington Nationals

They are long shots, especially playing in the NL East, but they do have some exciting young talent and will likely be better in 2025 than people expect.

25. Pittsburgh Pirates

This is a team that is very unpredictable. They could finish first in their division, last in their division, or anywhere in between. They have young talent, but probably not enough of it.

26. Athletics (Oakland/Sacramento/Las Vegas)

They have left Oakland. For now, they are just the A’s. They are still in the American League and in the AL West. So, this is the A’s, who play in Sacramento and are moving to Las Vegas. This team is not good, but they are better than the rest.

27. Los Angeles Angels

Nothing they do seems to work. The moment Ohtani left, he won a World Series. Trout has wasted his best years there. They are very far away from being a contender.

28. Miami Marlins

Just a couple of years ago, it seemed like the Marlins were on the rise. All of that was flushed down the drain last season, though, and they traded away good players. They will be a last-place team.

29. Colorado Rockies

This team is really bad. Their pitching is never good, and their offense only hits at home. If not for the next team, they would be the clearest team in baseball.

30. Chicago White Sox

Well, 2024 was a historically bad year for this franchise. I highly doubt that they will be worse in 2025, but even if they win 10-15 more games than they did a year ago, they are still the worst team in the league.
