Monday is finally here, and with Wrestlepalooza in a couple of weeks, we should see how the WWE will run on ESPN. Last week, we saw the return of A.J. Lee, who is the wife of C.M. Punk. Of course, everyone saw that coming, but there were rumors about the WWE pulling a switcharoo by using Rhea Ripley. That didn’t happen, so let’s see how things fall into place going forward. Also, remember to check out the latest episode of Through the Turnbuckles, as Crissi Rae and I weigh in on the world of wrestling. That being said, let’s get to this week’s power rankings so we can catch up with some of the stories going on right now. Have a great day, everyone, and may the slams be with you.
Cody Rhodes: Cody Rhodes took the week of, and we figured out why after learning that he and his wife Brandy celebrated this weekend with the birth of their new child, Leilani. Congratulations to you and the family, champ. We’ll see you when you get back.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins: Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch finally got their rude awakening on SmackDown last week, with the return of A.J. Lee. Now that Lee is back, you can expect a co-ed match between all four superstars, most likely happening at Wrestlepalooza.
John Cena: John Cena visited Chicago for his final time on Friday night SmackDown last week. He talked about the memories and everything before Sami Zane came out and asked for permission from Cena, to bring back the open challenge for the U.S. Championship. Cena loved the idea, so going forward you can expect a lot of title defenses from Zane.
C.M. Punk: C.M. Punk was done with getting jumped by the Vision, and when Lynch showed up at the Clash in Paris, that became the cherry on top. Punk vowed things wouldn’t go their way in Chicago which led to his wife, Lee showing up and laying the smackdown on Lynch.
Roman Reigns: Roman Reigns was victorious in getting his shoes back after defeating Bronson Reed at the Clash in Paris. So naturally, the OTC took some time off last week after getting beaten down by the Vision. I could see revenge happening soon enough, which should lead to Wrestlepalooza. That’s if the WWE has plans for him to compete on this newly branded PLE on ESPN, since he’s filming right now.
“Main Event” Jey Uso: Jey Uso was passed at the Vision for putting Reigns in a hospital, so he showed up to fight. He even told the crowd to stop chanting because he had some things to bring up. Instead, L.A. Knight came out, which every day led to the Vision showing up and all four having a tag team match as the main event on RAW. YEET!
Bron Breakker: Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed continue to make waves in the WWE by being Seth’s henchmen. They even defeated both Jey and Knight in their match on RAW, which led to one of their classic beatdowns afterwards.
L.A. Knight: L.A. Knight took a beatdown with Jey again at the hands of the Vision, but going forward, this isn’t going to last too long. With the Vision constantly getting the upper hand, you could see either him or Jey call them out tonight, or they’ll just plain attack them from behind to show they aren’t to be messed with. YEAH!
Sami Zane: Sami Zane has made it back on the power rankings after defeating Solo Sikoa for the U.S. Championship. Since then, Zane asked Cena for permission to start doing open challenges for the U.S. Championship. This is going to be an amazing concept to rehash since it was so popular when Cena did this.
Jacob Fatu: Jacob Fatu has finally caught up with his cousin Solo Sikoa in the numbers game. For now, Fatu had no matches last week, so he should be active this week. I could easily see him running into Solo Sikoa again, but where they go from here seems like it will lead to Survivor Series again.
