Two Minute Drill

  • The Packers will be looking for offensive production today with both WR Christian Watson and RB Aaron Jones out. For the second straight week, Green Bay elevated Patrick Taylor to the active roster. He ran for 22 yards on five carries in last week’s win against the Bears. Romeo Doubs is the Packers’ WR1 once again with Watson out and will look to build upon his four catches, 26 receiving yards and two TDs from last week.
  • RB Austin Ekeler has been ruled for the Chargers today. He is expected to return for Week 3, but Josh Kelley will be the bell cow for the Chargers this week. Kelley ran for 91 yards on 16 carries with a touchdown against the Dolphins last week. You can expect the Chargers’ wide receivers to get more receptions with Ekeler out. Kelley has never been known for his receiving skills, so he will not be able to replace that role in the Chargers offense. You can expect another big game from Keenan Allen and for rookie Quentin Johnston to possibly break out.
  • The news of Aaron Rodgers tearing his Achilles has dominated the NFL news cycle the past week. Another injury that will impact the Jets this week is K Greg Zuerlein being sidelined with a groin injury. The Jets signed K Austin Seibert during the week to fill in for Zuerlein. Seibert has only attempted 26 field goals the last three seasons, so the Jets may go for it on 4th down more often this week.
