Monday is finally here and after an amazing weekend of wrestling we’re back ready to see how the rankings were shaken up. Summerslam was a blast with both nights offering a different pace which led to two major comebacks, with Brock Lesnar being one of them. Now that the Beast Incarnate is back, you can only assume it’s time before he locks horns with a champ. For now it seems that he’s going to be working on a story with John Cena, which should lead to an amusing fall. That being said, let’s get to this week’s power rankings so we can catch up with some of the stories going on right now. Have a great day everyone and may the slams be with you.
Cody Rhodes: Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena in their Street Fight match on Sunday at Summerslam. This match has everything from wild spots to tons of false finishes; you couldn’t have topped off summer’s biggest party any better. Now that Rhodes is back on top as the Undisputed WWE Champion, you can bet his new chapter to his story is yet to come.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins: Seth Rollins not only flew to the top of these rankings, he became the WWE Heavyweight Champion of the world once again. He did that by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract after C.M. Punk had defeated Gunther for the title in the main event on Saturday.
John Cena: John Cena lost the Undisputed WWE Championship last night to Cody Rhodes. After putting on a Five-star match regarding what Dave Meltzer says, Cena’s moment was cut short by Brock Lesnar coming back, which led to him receiving an F-5 as the show went off the air.
C.M. Punk: C.M. Punk won the WWE Heavyweight Championship on Saturday night after defeating Gunther in the main event. Afterwards, Punk was celebrating before a familiar song hit, leading to Seth Rollins coming out and showing that he’s been faking his injury this whole time. That immediately led to Punk losing, which should lead to some fireworks on RAW, tonight.
Roman Reigns: Roman Reigns teamed up with Jey Uso to take on Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker in night one of SummerSlam. With the OTC in full effect, they were no match for these Samoans, as Reigns and Jey won this tag team match in style.
“Main Event” Jey Uso: Jey Uso and Roman Reigns won their tag team match like I stated but going forward, Jey will need his own path carved. With Reigns still connected to Paul Heyman, Jey can be there for backup but I feel Reigns will be the one that Seth will have to deal with going forward. YEET!
Bron Breakker: Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed lost their war with the OTC and Mister Yeet at Summerslam this weekend. This doesn’t mean much for Bron and Reed since they’re practically bodyguards for Seth’s faction. Going forward, you can expect to hear from both of them soon enough as Seth is most likely going to start Monday Night Rollins tonight as the champ.
Jacob Fatu: Jacob Fatu was in over his head dealing with Solo Sikoa and the rest of his cousins. Even though they were battling for the U.S. Championship in a steel cage, Sikoa’s advantages eventually played out in his favor. Jimmy Uso tried to help Fatu as well but even that came up short which led to Sikoa retaining his championship.
Solo Sikoa: Solo Sikoa retained his U.S. championship at Summerslam this past weekend after defeating his cousin, Jacob Fatu. Even though this fight wasn’t fair from the start, it still shows the stranglehold the Bloodlines have on the industry right now. There’s literally four Samoans on this list which not only proves my theory but strengthens it even more, since all of them deserve to be on here.
L.A. Knight: L.A. Knight almost found himself off this list in favor of Brock Lesnar coming back. Knight also had no role at Summerslam which is sad for the WWE’S Mega-star. However, Knight is an amazing talent and has been on this list for a long time. If Knight stays relevant, he could hold this spot down for a bit. Unfortunately it’s going to be Brock’s but that isn’t always a bad thing and this allows the WWE time to find a direction for Knight.
