It’s Wrestlemania week and I’m jacked up for everything this week has to offer. We have RAW on today, NXT on Tuesday, and then Friday Night Smackdown which is then followed up by the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Then the action starts on Saturday with NXT Stand & Deliver which leads right into night one of Wrestlemania. Then of course we have the finale on Sunday with night two of Wrestlemania which I’m sure is going to leave the wrestling industry shaken til RAW the next day.
Cody Rhodes: Cody Rhodes thought he would do a follow up to my recent article, but talking about WWE Titles. Cody perfectly delivered this promo as he made digs at Cena along the way. The champ could have his hands full this week at Wrestlemania, especially if the Final Boss chooses to make himself present for their match. I see this backfiring since “Stone Cold” Steve Austin will be in the building to save him, if it comes to it. I can’t wait to see this happen since this would makes sense given the Rock’s history with Austin.
John Cena: John Cena took a little time off of T.V. after receiving Cross Rhodes from Cody. At the moment, Cena isn’t scheduled to be on any of the shows but I could see him come out and get revenge to cap the week leading up to Wrestlemania. I feel that this will happen on Smackdown since the WWE’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony follows afterwards. That means Cena will be in the area leading to the confrontation I’m predicting.
“Main Event” Jey Uso: Jey Uso confronted Gunther after last week’s beatdown of his brother Jimmy Uso. Instead of violence, Jey came out to talk to Gunther while seething with blood. His eyes told the whole story as he told Gunther a story. A story of how he was scared and how he will no longer let Gunther intimidate him. That means Jey is going to be a heavy favorite to win the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania this weekend.
Gunther: Gunther thought it was cool to beat Jimmy Uso down in front of Jey Uso, while Jey was helpless while being tied to the ropes. I thought Jey was going to come out swinging but instead he dropped a promo that was one for the ages. That promo left Gunther worried and he should be because this could be the last week he’s the World Heavyweight Champion.
C.M. Punk: C.M. Punk has made it clear that he is here to dominate the WWE roster, no matter the cost. From favors to simply just laying the wood down, Punk is making Roman’s life difficult headed into Wrestlemania. Will his favor be Heyman screwing over Roman to get the win or will it all backfire in the end? We’ll know the answer to that question on Saturday.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins: Seth Rollins had been having a ball watching Roman and Punk having beef over Paul Heyman like he’s a toy between two kids. However if you don’t think Seth has a plan to use this, you’re wrong. I could easily see Seth using this to his avatar which could help him win at Wrestlemania.
Roman Reigns: Roman Reigns is scheduled to be on RAW Monday and you can bet he’s going to be pissed. He’s most likely going to want an answer from his “Wise man” about this favor he owes C.M. Punk. He’s also going to be angry at Punk for delivering a GTS to him while his back was turned, while talking to Paul Heyman. I can’t wait to see this go down.
L.A. Knight: L.A. Knight has his hands full with Jacob Fatu this week at Wrestlemania. Over the past few months, we have seen Fatu go from rarely talking to delivering high end promos with destruction to go with it. Knight’s biggest problem will be Toma Tonga, who will most likely be in Fatu’s corner this weekend. So Knight will have to be at the top of his game, if he wants to retain.
Bron Breakker: Bron Breakker is preparing to defend his Intercontinental Championship in a Fatal four-way match against Dominick Mysterio, Penta, and Finn Balór. This v is always a hard match for any champ to be part of since they don’t even need to lose to lose their belt. However, Bron is my pick to retain unless they feel it’s time to move him up to a bigger belt meaning both heavyweight champs should be worried if he loses.
Randy Orton: Randy Orton still doesn’t have an opponent for Wrestlemania at the moment but his relationship with RAW’s general manager, Nick Aldis, has become very rocky over the past few weeks. Regardless, the news of Kevin Owens’ injury still hasn’t fully surfaced yet, which leaves me to believe that Owens is somehow going to get a piece of Randy at some point this weekend.
