Last Weeks Record: 12-6-1

Cole Ragans MORE than 7 Strikeouts

Ragans is having a monster season for the Royals. He has made 16 starts, throwing 92 innings, and has a 3.13 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 109 strikeouts. He has recorded at least seven strikeouts in five of his past seven starts, and he has thrown at least six innings in nine of his past 10 starts. The innings pitched are important here because if he goes six or more, there’s a good chance he racks up 7 or more strikeouts based on his impressive K/9 this season. He also faces the Marlins tonight, who are the 2nd worst-scoring team in MLB.

Bryce Harper MORE than 6.5 Fantasy Points

Harper is having a nice stretch at the dish lately. He is riding an eight-game hitting streak that includes five multi-hit efforts and six games with an XBH. Harper handles LHP well, but he does a lot more damage against RHP, which is what he faces tonight against Casey Mize, who has struggled for most of the season, posting a 4.44 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in his 14 starts.

Matt Waldron MORE than 4 Strikeouts

In his past eight starts, Waldron has been dynamite. He has allowed two ER or less in all of them and has struck out for or more batters in seven of them. In his past five starts, he has also been going deeper into games, topping six innings in each of them and topping seven innings in three of them. Of course, the deeper he goes into games, the more chances he has to pick up strikeouts, so it’s not a coincidence that the strikeout numbers are up.

Luis Medina LESS than 4.5 Strikeouts

Medina’s first start of the season on June 2nd was great. He went five innings against the Braves, allowing no ER, and struck out six. Since then, though, it has been pretty ugly. Medina has allowed 11 ER in his past 15.1 innings, and he has failed to top three strikeouts in any of the outings. His struggles and the numbers indicate that the 4.5 number is too high tonight, so going with LESS is the way to go.
