Kenneth Walker III is already rewriting the Kansas City Chiefs’ record book. After another monster performance in Week 4, Walker has rushed for 537 yards through the first four games of the 2026 NFL season, putting together the best four-game rushing start in franchise history.

Walker entered Kansas City’s Week 4 matchup with 360 rushing yards through three games before exploding for 177 yards on 22 carries against the Las Vegas Raiders. He also scored two rushing touchdowns in the Chiefs’ 30-27 victory.

That pushed Walker’s season total to 537 rushing yards, an incredible 6.2 yards per carry on 87 attempts. He also has four rushing touchdowns and has added 84 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.

The production is especially impressive considering Walker is in his first season with Kansas City. The Chiefs signed him during the offseason after he helped the Seattle Seahawks win Super Bowl LX, with Kansas City making a major investment in him to transform its running game.

Chiefs finally have their workhorse

Kansas City has not had a 1,000-yard rusher since Kareem Hunt accomplished the feat in 2017, which was also the last season before Patrick Mahomes became the team’s starting quarterback. Walker has already put himself in position to end that drought in emphatic fashion.

Through four games, Walker is averaging 134.3 rushing yards per game, which puts him on pace for more than 2,200 rushing yards over a full 17-game season.

Those numbers are obviously difficult to sustain, but Walker’s early performance has been nothing short of spectacular. He has surpassed 100 rushing yards in three of four games and has already established himself as one of the NFL’s most productive running backs.

The Chiefs brought Walker to Kansas City hoping he could finally provide the explosive rushing attack the offense has lacked for years.

Four weeks into the season, that decision is looking like a home run.
