The NFL Week 4 injury report is already creating plenty of uncertainty heading into Thursday, with several star players either returning to practice, dealing with new injuries, or trending toward missing this week’s games. Puka Nacua and Nico Collins were back on the practice field, while Justin Jefferson, DeVonta Smith, Mike Evans and Caleb Williams were among the notable players who did not participate Wednesday.

Several quarterbacks are also dealing with injuries, including Lamar Jackson, Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye, while Jayden Reed’s season has officially come to an end after the Packers wide receiver suffered an injury requiring surgery.

Major quarterback and receiver updates

Daniels provided one of the biggest positive developments Wednesday, returning to practice in a limited capacity after dislocating his left elbow in Week 2. He has not been ruled out for Sunday’s game against Indianapolis, although Marcus Mariota remains ready to start if Daniels cannot go.

Jackson was also limited Wednesday with what Ravens coach Jesse Minter described as “something small.” Jackson’s participation will be worth monitoring throughout the week, but there is currently no indication that Baltimore expects the quarterback to miss Sunday’s game.

Nacua returned to practice in a limited capacity after missing Week 3 with a hip injury, while Collins was also limited as he works his way back from a hamstring issue. Justin Jefferson, meanwhile, did not practice Wednesday and remains day-to-day.

Drake Maye practiced fully despite a shoulder issue, and Jaylen Waddle also received a full practice designation. Ladd McConkey was limited with a foot issue, while Zay Flowers remained limited. DeVonta Smith, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Caleb Williams were among those who did not practice.

Perhaps the biggest receiver news came from Green Bay, where Jayden Reed needs surgery and will miss the remainder of the season.

Running backs and other notable injuries

The running back position also has several situations to monitor. Breece Hall is considered week-to-week, while Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears both missed practice Wednesday. Rico Dowdle has already been ruled out for Pittsburgh’s Thursday night game, while Rachaad White was sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Zach Charbonnet could return to practice Thursday, providing a potential boost for Seattle’s backfield. Jaylen Wright was limited for Miami, Jadarian Price was limited for Seattle, and Keaton Mitchell is dealing with an ankle issue.

Other notable developments include Dallas Goedert remaining sidelined, Adonai Mitchell being considered week-to-week, and Aaron Donald sitting out Wednesday with a sore back.
