The NFL’s Week 2 injury report is packed with notable names, from star quarterbacks and wide receivers to several major fantasy football contributors. With Sunday’s games approaching, multiple players have already been ruled out, while several others remain questionable or doubtful heading into kickoff.
Major injury updates around the NFL
The Houston Texans will be without Nico Collins, who was ruled out with a hamstring injury. Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow is officially questionable with a back issue but is on track to start Sunday after practicing fully on Friday.
The New Orleans Saints listed Chris Olave as questionable with a hamstring injury, while Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers is doubtful despite practicing Friday. Chargers wideout Ladd McConkey is also questionable with a rib injury.
Las Vegas tight end Brock Bowers returned to practice but remains doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. Denver running back R.J. Harvey is questionable, while Indianapolis receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is also questionable after sitting out Friday.
There was better news for several players. George Kittle was cleared to play for San Francisco after practicing fully Friday, while Jacksonville receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has no injury designation and is set to play. Jakobi Meyers also had his injury designation removed.
Puka Nacua is now dealing with a hip injury and is questionable for Monday night’s Rams-Giants matchup after missing Friday and Saturday’s practices.
Quarterbacks and other notable statuses
Minnesota will be without Kyler Murray in Week 2 after the quarterback suffered a concussion in the season opener. Carson Wentz will start in his place. Atlanta will again turn to Cooper Rush, with Michael Penix Jr. out and Tua Tagovailoa doubtful because of an oblique injury.
Other notable updates include D’Andre Swift being removed from Chicago’s injury report, Kyle Monangai being cleared for Sunday’s game, Jalen Coker having no injury designation, and Alec Pierce practicing fully after sitting out Thursday. Chig Okonkwo is out, while Jauan Jennings is unavailable for personal reasons and Omar Cooper Jr. has been ruled out.
The Rams could also have a major addition Monday night, with Aaron Donald saying he plans to make his 2026 debut against the Giants.
Meanwhile, Jason Sanders will remain the Jets’ kicker for Week 2 after making three of four field-goal attempts in the season opener.
With so many significant names carrying injury designations, the final inactive reports will be especially important before Week 2 gets underway.
