Between a healthy Josh Jung and the additions of Joc Pederson and Jake Burger, the Texas Rangers should have one of the strongest, and deepest, lineups this year. They are also looking for Wyatt Langford to continue taking the next steps while Adolis Garcia and Evan Carter need to find their grooves. On the mound though is where we have some concerns and that will be interesting to follow throughout the year.

Breakout: Josh Jung

What we though was going to happen last year, but didn’t due to injury, can still take place in 2025. Josh Jung was limited to just seven home runs and 46 games last year as his ISO dropped to .157. We can blame the wrist injury on that as Jung, at the least gets back to his 2023 performance of 23 home runs and 70 RBI in 122 games.

Prospects To Know

Hitting Prospect – Sebastian Walcott: Despite only playing five games in Double-A, Sebastian Walcott is surging up prospect rankings. It’s for good reason as he comes with a plethora of tools. There’s a chance we see him in Texas this season, but by 2026, he will certainly bust down the door. In 121 games last, Walcott hit .265 with 11 home runs and 27 stolen bases. With a .186 ISO, there is some power to work here.

Pitching Prospect – Kumar Rocker: After 36.2 minor league innings last year, Kumar Rocker made his MLB debut at the end of the season. It was truly a limited engagement as he pitched just 11.2 innings in three starts. Rocker had success with a 3.86 ERA which was a continuation of his 1.96 ERA prior to his promotion. The tools and upside are here, and Rocker will likely be the next man up for the inevitable injury to Texas’ rotation.
