The process begins early in each week’s schedule. Getting to the playoffs is critical, and if possible, getting a week 15 bye is another team goal. Following week 8, I analyze where teams are in that playoff picture. In most cases, 8 or 18 wins (if median scoring is used) will have the team in the playoffs. Understanding the “How” allows you to simply follow the blueprint to a championship.

Knowing the byes is important & looking at the immediate week 10 byes can impact that week’s results.  What players are likely to be on a waiver list following week 9?  Let’s put them on your roster prior to week 9.  In superflex, this can be backup QBs like Jimmy G or Carson Wentz.

If it’s a single quarterback, then it’s players like Gainwell or Sanders.  This differs from redraft, where players like Corum or Benson are available. In dynasty leagues, these players are on a roster. Do you need 1 more starter to get a win in week 10?  Who is your week 10 opponent? Can you make a trade by giving them a week 10 bye player to take a starter you can start?

Look ahead at your week 11 & week 12 opponents as well.  You want to send your trade chips to your opponents when they are on bye.  Look at their team & see what the team needs are so you fulfill them but leave them short in the matchup vs your team.  It’s now time for week 9 Sunday & watching the games, so enjoy football.  Note the surprises & think about how that knowledge can benefit you in week 10.  Put the trade framework in place as this door is closing.  Most importantly, enjoy week 9.
