Top MLB Prop Picks 5/6

Shohei Ohtani MORE Than 1.5 Total Bases

Ohtani, the leader in MLB batting average and hits, is a force to be reckoned with. With 10 HRs and 14 doubles this season, he’s not just hitting well; he’s hitting for power and for extra bases. Tonight, he’s up against Marlins rookie Roddery Munoz, who has shown promise in his first two outings this season but has yet to face a team as formidable as the Dodgers. Munoz’s early streak of success ends tonight, and Ohtani will play a significant role.

Jack Flaherty MORE Than 5.5 Strikeouts

Flaherty is winless this season but has pitched well enough to have three or four wins. His ratios are solid, and his strikeout numbers are eye-popping. He has struck out 50 batters in 36 innings and has at least six strikeouts in seven of his last eight starts, dating back to his final two Spring Training starts. He should be able to keep that going tonight against the Guardians.

Bobby Witt Jr. MORE Than 1.5 Total Bases

Witt Jr. continues to impress at the dish this season. Through his first 35 games, he is batting .319 with a .375 OBP, four HRs, 10 doubles, and five triples. He has been an extra-base hit machine, and he needs just one of those tonight to win this prop for us. He also has multiple hits in four of his last eight games, so he doesn’t necessarily need an XBH. To put the cherry on top, he has a pretty solid matchup tonight vs. Brewers starter Bryse Wilson.

Alex Wood LESS Than 4.5 Strikeouts

Wood has struggled for most of the season, and tonight, things won’t get easier for him against the defending world champions. The Rangers have an excellent lineup, and they should knock Wood out of this game early. Wood has made seven starts this season, striking out four or less in five of those starts. The stats and trends tell us to take the “less” here.
