Whether it’s moonshot home runs, clutch base hits, or multi-hit games that just won’t quit, these dawgs got it done. We’re breaking down the hottest players at the plate — guys who raked, slugged, and changed games with nearly every swing. Let’s look at who tore it up and made noise last week around the league, in no particular order.
Pete Alonso (NYM – 1B)
Last Week’s Line: .400/.486/.967/1.452, 5 HR, 15 RBI, 9 R, 0 SB
Huge week for the Polar Bear. HUGE. Pete the Bat feasted on the Metropolitans’ west coast road trip. Big boy games against the Dodgers, to boot.
Ketel Marte (ARI – 2B,DH)
Last Week’s Line: .400/0.539/1.000/1.539, 4 HR, 8 RBI, 6 R, 0 SB
Marte was consistent all week, producing 14 runs total. Big game Tuesday at Atlanta (3/3, 2 HR).
Lawrence Butler (ATH – RF)
Last Week’s Line: .429/.515/.750/1.265, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 11 R, 1 SB
Butler was a run-scoring machine last week, totalling 11 in a seven-game homestand. Also – five multi-hit games, and reached base in more than half his ABs.
Aaron Judge (NYY – LF, CF ,RF ,DH)
Last Week’s Line: .450/.577/.850/1.427, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 7 R, 1 SB
There are no words. It’s Judge. And he’s Judge’ing.
Manny Machado (SD – 3B, DH)
Last Week’s Line: .393/.452/.714/1.166, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 4 R, 1 SB
Aside from Monday night in San Francisco (I mean, Logan Webb went eight strong), Machado had himself a week.
Jo Adell (LAA – CF,RF)
Last Week’s Line: .316/.409/.947/1.357, 4 HR, 5 RBI, 6 R, 1 SB
This feature is brought to you by two big games – Monday in Boston (2/4, 2HR) and Saturday against the Mariners (3/3, 2HR).
Cal Raleigh (SEA – C, DH)
Last Week’s Line: .350/.381/.85/1.231, 3 HR, 8 RBI, 5 R, 1 SB
Historic season for the Big Dumper continued last week. And all this was done just in five games (four, if you take out the 0-4 stinker against the O’s Tuesday).
Hunter Goodman (COL – C, LF ,RF ,DH)
Last Week’s Line: .400/.423/.960/1.383, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 5 R, 0 SB
Literally the only good thing going for the Rockies at this point. Literally.
Maikel Garcia (KC – 2B, 3B, SS, CF)
Last Week’s Line: .280/.357/.600/.957, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 5 R, 3 SB
Was hoping to feature Cags here (sigh), but Maikel has just been so good this year. Really digging the adjustments and the speed plays.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. (NYY – 2B, 3B, CF)
Last Week’s Line: .381/.391/.667/1.058, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 3 R, 3 SB
Welcome back, fella! As the world turns with Jazz, his week was all or nothing. Nice series against the Land, and big Friday night against the Red Sox.
