These are the top 10 wrestlers in the WWE right now:
John Cena:
John Cena maintains the top position after defeating Randy Orton at Backlash. The match was a very good one up until the point the refs and WWE staff started taking bumps and RKOs. That’s when Cena took the opportunity to deliver a low blow to Orton, thus winning the match. I’m sure Cena will be out there running his mouth tonight on RAW, so let’s see who steps up.
“Main Event” Jey Uso:
Jey Uso stays at second even though he did not compete on Saturday. Recently, Jey Uso has been dealing with Logan Paul, which I could see leading to a title defense at Money in the Bank. However, with Paul’s skill set, he would be perfect for the MITB match, but I can see them giving Cena off that night and letting Jey be the defending champion that night.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins:
Seth Rollins has been on the prowl for another teammate to join his faction. He has been striking out, but gets to refuel his efforts tonight on Monday Night Rollins. Seth also had off on Saturday, so with no action, there are no results. However, Rollins faced Jey for the title last week on RAW and had his plan thwarted by C.M. Punk, thwarted from his hiatus.
Bron Breakker:
Bron Breakker accompanied Seth to the ring on RAW to face Jey for the World Heavyweight Championship. Of course, he was there to make sure that Seth won, which didn’t happen. From C.M. Punk returning to Sami Zane coming to Jey’s assistance, even Bron couldn’t help,p Seth won the title.
Randy Orton:
Randy Orton and John Cena had a great match on Saturday which left some fans pissed. Pissed that we couldn’t get another Dave Meltzer as shenanigans broke loose causing Randy to lose. You can bet the Viper will be back, but I’m not dropping him in my list because both wrestlers left Backlash strong.
C.M. Punk:
C.M. Punk is back and just in time to stop Seth from beating Jey for the World Heavyweight Championship. That means tonight should be a fire because I’m counting on both Punk and Rollins getting into it on RAW. Going forward, we could see these two finally locking up at Money in the Bank in a singles match. However, both wrestlers should be in the MITB, which could only add more fuel to this fire.
Roman Reigns:
Roman Reigns is in the same boat as Punk, no matter if he likes it or hates it. With his Bloodline story finally done, Roman also has had some time off to refuel for the road to Summerslam. Will he and Punk align, or will Roman make amends with the Usos so that at least someone has his back? Only time will tell for this WWE superstar.
LA Knight:
L.A. Knight had a great match on Saturday as he faced Damien Priest, Drew McIntyre, and the current US Champion, Jacob Fatu. There was a lot of gas with no brakes in this match, as the final two left when the smoke cleared were Knight and Fatu. That’s when a new member showed up on Solo Sikoa’s behalf to secure the win for Fatu. Once Fatu saw what happened, he was a little disgusted, but he didn’t see the attack go down, leaving him confused as well.
Cody Rhodes:
Cody Rhodes has been off of T.V. since dropping the title at WrestleMania. That doesn’t mean he won’t be back, but after going hard for that long, some time off is deserved. Recently, the WWE has removed him from advertisements going forward, which means we won’t be seeing Cody until summer.
Gunther:
Gunther faced Pat McAfee at Backlash after taking out his anger on Michael Cole and McAfee weeks prior. This match was one-sided, but you can’t deny that, like a true athlete, Pat put on a show. From chest slaps to Cole trying to help, nothing could stop the former champ from pinning McAfee. In the end, Gunther had a newfound respect for Pat as they shook hands after a very entertaining match.
