With only three weeks left in the NFL regular season, these five injuries could have massive playoff implications for the teams who have injuries or for the teams they are playing against.
Patrick Mahomes, QB, KC
Mahomes exited the Chiefs’ win over the Browns with an ankle injury and did not return. However, Andy Reid stated that he could have returned if needed and should play next week.
David Montgomery, RB, DET
Montgomery suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Lions’ loss to Buffalo this week. It will be up to Jahmyr Gibbs to pick up the slack in his absence.
TJ Watt, EDGE, PIT
Watt rolled his ankle in the Steelers’ battle with the Eagles. Although the Steelers play on Saturday, Watt is optimistic that he can play.
Nick Chubb, RB, CLE
Chubb suffered a broken foot in the loss to Kansas City. His season is over and Jerome Ford will replace him as the Browns’ RB1.
Alvin Kamara, RB, NO
Kamara suffered a groin injury in the Saints’ narrow defeat to Washington. Saints coach Darren Rizzi did not provide a clear answer on if Kamara was expected to play this week.
