Commanders @ Cardinals:
All credit in the world goes out to Washington’s defense who played tremendous football. Their front four pressured Kyler Murray all game long and held him to 142 passing yards. On offense Brian Robinson ran for 101 yards and a touchdown and Jayden Daniels had 233 passing yards and a touchdown to go along with 47 rushing yards and a touchdown. He’s going to win rookie of the year and it won’t even be close.
The Cardinals are overrated. Kyler Murray gets skittish when there’s too much pressure and it’s almost like he is unwilling to stay in the pocket and take the big hit. If it wasn’t for James Conner who had 104 rushing yards and a touchdown the Cardinals had pretty much no offense to speak of. Marvin Harrison did have 45 yards receiving and a touchdown but it was underwhelming considering the matchup.
Patriots @ 49ers:
I am so ready for Drake Maye to take over and be the starting quarterback for New England. Jacoby Brissett Is just nothing more than a backup and it’s hard to watch him sometimes. Rhamondre Stevenson had 43 rushing yards to go along with four receptions and was the lone bright spot for the team.
Brock Purdy threw for 288 yards and a touchdown and should have had an even bigger day. Jordan Mason ran for 123 yards and a touchdown, and he was even used as a receiver, catching 2 passes for 37 yards. George Kittle came back from injury and had 45 yards and a touchdown. Once again, this was not a great day for Brandon Aiyuk, whose fantasy managers have to be frustrated at this point. He’s getting looks, but they are not converting to big plays. I would not trade him yet, but something seems to be missing.
Browns @ Raiders:
If it hadn’t been for a horrible holding call by the referees, the Browns probably would have won. Jerome Ford ran for 58 yards and had seven receptions, so it was good to see him more involved. It was also finally good to see Jerry Jeudy be involved, getting 6 receptions for 72 yards. Amari Cooper underwhelmed, as he tends to do on the road, only having 4 receptions for 35 yards. His game would have been completely different had he had the touchdown, but outside of that, the Raiders bottled him up nicely.
The Raiders are just not very good. Gardner Minshew threw for 130 yards and didn’t have a touchdown pass. Luckily, they ran the ball very well, with Alexander Madison getting 60 yards on five carries. Even Zamir White had 50 rushing yards. Brock Bowers only had two receptions for 19 yards, which was a little shocking; however, he didn’t match up well stylistically with the Browns coverage scheme. Tre Tucker did a pretty good job catching 5 out of his six targets and will have a role on the team even when Davante Adams returns.
